AI Visibility Index · Restaurants
Which Miami restaurants does AI recommend?
Here's the most extreme case in the whole study: one restaurant in Hialeah appeared in all 24 answers for its area — in both languages and across all three engines, without missing once. This is the data, area by area.
In restaurants, the 10 most-named places take 56.8% of the recommendations inside their area: the second most closed category in the study, behind med spas only.
With a quirk of its own: AI names 9.7 restaurants per answer — noticeably more than any other category, where it hovers around 6.5 — and the split still concentrates. More seats at the table, and the same people sitting in them.
This data comes from the AI Visibility Index of Miami: 600 questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude across five categories and five areas of Miami-Dade, with the method and the data published. This page is the restaurants cut — 120 questions.
Area by area
The right way to read this is inside each area: a business in Brickell doesn't compete with one in Hialeah, so lumping them together dilutes the number and makes the door look more open than it is.
| Area | Businesses named | Top 10 takes | Most named |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brickell | 48 | 52.2% | Komodo (22) |
| Kendall | 44 | 63.1% | Apocalypse BBQ (21) |
| Doral | 64 | 50.8% | Bulla Gastrobar (19) |
| Hialeah | 58 | 59.1% | La Fresa Francesa (24) |
| Aventura | 42 | 58.6% | Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina (22) |
The La Fresa Francesa case: 24 out of 24
In Hialeah, La Fresa Francesa showed up in every single answer: all 24, in English and Spanish, on ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. No other business in any other category managed that. When a model holds an association that strong between "restaurant" and "Hialeah", everyone else is competing for the spots left over.
Kendall is the tightest area
63.1% top-10 concentration with only 44 restaurants named. Doral is the opposite: 64 names and 50.8%, the most spread out. Two areas of the same county playing by different rules.
It's the category the models were most comfortable with
Zero failed questions and zero generic names to discard — the only clean category of the five. Models talk about restaurants far more freely than about dentists or law firms: more sources, more reviews, more press. Which also means the competition to appear is tougher.

What to do with this
- Appearing once isn't appearing At 9.7 names per answer, landing in one list is easy and means nothing. What counts is repeating: a serious measurement asks many times and looks at how often you're in.
- Press and local listings matter more here than anywhere else The restaurants that dominate are the ones showing up in guides, write-ups and third-party rankings. A restaurant only its own Instagram talks about has one source; the model prefers the one with ten.
- Mind both versions of your name We saw the same restaurant written three and four different ways (with and without the location, with and without accents). When the name wobbles between sources, the model splits that signal instead of stacking it. Listing, site and social should say exactly the same thing.
And the usual reminder, worth repeating: nobody can guarantee you a position in ChatGPT. It doesn't exist as a product and it can't be bought. What can be done is measure where you start, move the signals a model reads, and measure again.
Frequently asked
Which Miami restaurants does AI recommend most?
In the July 2026 measurement, the most-named was Pisco y Nazca (39 mentions), followed by Motek (28) and Divieto Ristorante (25). By area: Komodo in Brickell, Apocalypse BBQ in Kendall, Bulla Gastrobar in Doral, La Fresa Francesa in Hialeah and Bourbon Steak in Aventura.
How many different restaurants does AI name?
Across 120 questions it named 240 distinct restaurants, averaging 9.7 per answer — more than any other category measured. Even so, the 10 most-named take 56.8% of the mentions inside their area.
Is it easier or harder to appear as a restaurant?
Harder than it looks. AI names more restaurants per answer than in other categories, but concentration stays high (56.8% in the top 10 by area): more places on the list, and still the same names repeating.
How do I get AI to recommend my restaurant?
Get others talking about you: local press, guides, listings and recent reviews carry the most weight in this category. Keep your name written identically everywhere. And measure where you stand first — our free listing review checks all three engines and hands you the evidence.
